The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test), is a computer-based exam that helps to assess the student’s qualification for advanced studies at a graduate school. It is regulated by Pearson VUE under the of GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council), a non-benefit association. Through-out the year it conveys test in 34 cities in India through 39 test centres.
It is designed especially for applicants to business programs. Hence, if you are applying for a business program, and the college you want to apply to is amongst the only few institutions that do not accept the Shorter GRE, you would have no choice but to take the GMAT.
A Large number of schools accept GMAT scores from applicants, so preparing for the test is important. By following a perfect preparation strategy can increase a student’s score enough to identify a difference between being rejected to a program or waitlisted and accepted by B-school's.

One year MBA program at SPJIMR, XLRI, Indian School of Business (ISB), and Great Lakes as well as for the PGP-X MBA programs at the IIMs. Two Year Flagship MBA at 100+ B-schools/Universities including SPJIMR, IMI, IMT, XUB, TAPMI, KJ Somaiya, Goa Institute of Management (GIM), etc.
It measures you on: The GMAT test gauges the aptitudes you have against the abilities that the schools pay special mind to. GMAT isn't only a trial of your quantitative and verbal capacity, rather, it tests you on your systematic capacity your capacity to dissect complex data and your coherent ability separated from your time procedures.
There is no age or capability based imperative to take the GMAT — essentially, anybody can step through this examination. The GMAT test scores are substantial for a long time. In any case, while applying to B-Schools, it is in every case better if your scores have been acquired inside the most recent 2 years.

Exam’s Order section: When you arrive at your test centre, you have the flexibility to choose one of three options: 1. Quantitative, Verbal, Integrated Reasoning, Analytical Writing Assessment 2. Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative, Verbal 3. Verbal, Quantitative, Integrated Reasoning, Analytical Writing Assessment Important Pointers for GMAT: 1. With no registration or last dates criteria, GMAT is available throughout the year. 2. Scores can be cancelled, & candidate can retake the test after 16 days from actual test date. 3. Scores is valid for Five years. 4. The Official Report will be sent to candidate within 20 calendar days after your test.
Test takers can enroll for the GMAT exam either online or offline or telephone or by means of mail. Applicants can conduct GMAT five times each year. Steps to enroll for GMAT are as per the following
- Step 1: Sign up on mba.com portal for registration
- Step 2: Start the GMAT registration process
- Step 3: Add all your required personal information
- Step 4: Add optional information
- Step 5: Verify Your Profile
- Step 6: Schedule your GMAT exam
- Step 7: Pay the GMAT registration fee
The GMAT exam comprises of 4 sections:
- Analytical Writing Assessment
- Integrated Reasoning
- Quantitative Reasoning
- Verbal Reasoning
Students or candidates must have bachelor’s degree recognized from any university.
Candidates can appear more than 5 times in one year.
Candidates have to wait for 16 days for another GMAT exam attempt. If candidates have achieved score of 800, they are required to wait for 5 years to take exam again.
