Popularly known as XAT, Xavier Aptitude Test is an all-India management aptitude exam organised by Xavier Labour Relation Institute on behalf of XAMI. XLRI conducts the exam to scan out the best students for management education. Every year, more than 1 lakh aspirants appear in the exam to pursue higher studies at XLRI and its associated institutes. The XAT score is accepted by more than 150 management institutes in India and abroad.
XAT is a common test for admission into academic programmes of XLRI. Applicants should note that registration for XAT 2023 and appearing for XAT 2023 is the preliminary step towards applying to XLRI and XAT Associate Institutes. Candidates interested in XLRI need to apply for the programmes of their choice.
XAT 2023 Exam Eligibility for NRIs: While XAT 2023 eligibility criteria for domestic candidates require the candidates to appear in XAT 2023, which is the mandatory exam for admission to member and associate B-schools for Indian candidates for MBA/PGDM 2023-25 batch, the XAT exam eligibility for NRI and foreign.
XAT is considered more difficult than other MBA entrance exams. Its scoring pattern of +1 mark for each correct answer and -0.25 mark negative marking makes it difficult to score beyond 35-40 marks. ... The difficulty level as well as reduced number of questions fetch high percentile at low scores in XAT exam.

The XAT will be conducted in online mode at various test centres in 72 cities across India. No change has been announced in the XAT exam. Candidates can apply for XAT by registering online.
One of the key differences between CAT and XAT syllabus is the varying topics and sections. CAT does not have Decision Making section and GK section but XAT exam has DM and GK as separate sections. Another key difference is the XAT Vs CAT difficulty level. XAT is considered a bit more difficult than CAT exam.

One can attempt XAT exam any number of times. There is no restriction on number of attempts.
In XAT they are a part of the second part of the paper. The score obtained in GK is not added to the total score as a result the percentile are not affected by them. Although for selection in XLRI the score of GK questions is considered for further rounds of selection in case you are shortlisted for interview.
